Children should be required to be vaccinated before attending public school in order to preserve the general health and wellbeing of themselves and the people around them. Vaccines can not only stop an individual child from contracting an illness, but also protect from the spreading of diseases to other people. According to, these vaccinations have caused some harmful and even fatal diseases, such as polio, to become extinct in the United States. Because of these extinctions, vaccines can also protect the generations to come, wiping out harmful diseases so that future children can be healthy and unaffected by these illnesses, as can the children of today.
